3 event logo coookies croppedTo help raise the profile of the work of Lifeblood, the Thrombosis Charity in National Thrombosis Week 2013, sponsored an evening of fun, fashion, fundraising and foodie treats.

A room full of women, of all ages, shapes and sizes, and a show of High Street fashions with plenty of summer bargains thanks to Retail Therapy Shows, combined to make a fun and fruitful fundraising evening.

Throw in a glass of wine, a special free gift, lots of wonderful raffle prizes donated by the local business community, some beautiful silver jewellery by Ikkara, and Barefoot Books for children’s gifts, and we had the magic formula for a fun fundraising evening.

Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, provided a gift or a raffle prize and contributed in kind, a fantastic £2005 was raised.

This will go direct to Lifeblood to support research and better education of medical professionals to prevent and diagnose blood clots, and to reduce the shockingly high 35,000 deaths from thrombosis in the UK every year, many of which are preventable.

Photographs of the event are available on my Facebook page.
